Anderson Sargentbuilder/owner
In 1985, Jim Sargent made a commitment to build better, more energy-efficient homes. "I started monitoring and analyzing our homes and their energy consumption, and I started reading and attending everything I could find about how to do it right." That dedication and attention to detail has paid off. In 2003, Jim became the first builder in the nation to receive the Master Builder designation for building energy efficient homes from the Energy & Environmental Building Association (EEBA).
The Zero Energy Home Project was the concept of AndersonSargent Custom Builder, LP of Waxahachie, Texas, a partnership between Jim Sargent and Vickie Anderson. The home was created to be a demonstration home, showing that a net zero home could be built to be beautiful, comfortable and environmentally friendly while using generally accepted building practices and materials. To this end, AndersonSargent assembled the following team, second to none.
